Reactions

Not „How are you?”, but what you say back — short turns that carry a whole conversation.

Fair enough

informalaccepting someone's point

You accept someone's point — you needn't fully agree, but you grant it's reasonable. A calm way to close the topic.

Examples
  • Fair enough, let's skip it.
    PLNo dobra, odpuśćmy to.
  • Fair enough — I see your point.
    PLNiech ci będzie — rozumiem.

Makes sense

neutralthat's logical / I follow

You confirm something is logical and that you follow. The „it” often drops — „Makes sense” alone is enough.

Examples
  • Ah, that makes sense now.
    PLAha, teraz to ma sens.
  • Makes sense — let's do that.
    PLMa sens — zróbmy tak.

No way

informaldisbelief / strong refusal

Two senses, both strong: disbelief („No way!”) or a firm refusal („Not a chance”). Tone tells them apart.

Examples
  • No way, that's amazing!
    PLNiemożliwe, to super!
  • No way am I doing that.
PLNie ma mowy, żebym to zrobił.

Exactly

neutralstrong agreement

Strong agreement — „exactly, that's the point”. You confirm someone hit the nail on the head.

Examples
  • Exactly, that's what I meant.
    PLDokładnie, o to mi chodziło.
  • Yes, exactly!
    PLTak, właśnie!

I guess so

informalreluctant / unsure agreement

Agreement without conviction — „I suppose so”. Signals hesitation or little enthusiasm.

Examples
  • I guess so, if I have time.
PLChyba tak, jeśli będę mieć czas.
  • Yeah, I guess so.
    PLNo chyba tak.

Not really

informalsoft no

A soft „no” — „not particularly”. Less blunt than a plain „no”.

Examples
  • Not really, I'm not a fan.
    PLNiespecjalnie, nie przepadam.
  • No, not really.
    PLNie, nie bardzo.
