  • on Monday
    PLw poniedziałek

in / on / at — place

Verb + preposition

B1depend on · listen to · wait for

Many verbs pair with a fixed preposition that you can't translate literally.

Examples
  • It depends on you.
    PLTo zależy od ciebie.
    depend ON, not „from”
  • I'm waiting for the bus.
    PLCzekam na autobus.
  • Listen to me.
    PLPosłuchaj mnie.

Adjective + preposition

B1good at · interested in · afraid of

Adjectives have their own fixed prepositions too — best learned as a pair.

Examples
  • She's good at maths.
    PLJest dobra z matematyki.
  • I'm interested in art.
    PLInteresuję się sztuką.
  • He's afraid of dogs.
    PLBoi się psów.
Common mistake

I'm good in English.I'm good at English.

„Good” takes „at” for being skilled at something: „good at English”. Learn adjective + preposition pairs together.
